The Nissan Leaf e+ achieved outstanding scores across a series of clean air, greenhouse gases and energy efficiency tests run by the Green New Car Assessment Programme (NCAP) initiative, established to promote the development of cars that are clean, energy-efficient and kind to the environment.

The latest iteration of the pioneering zero-emission vehicle achieved 10/10 scores for air quality and 9.9/10 for energy efficiency, securing the maximum five-star rating from the independent testing body.

Green NCAP highlighted the Leaf’s innovative e-Pedal with regenerative energy technology.

“Since the model’s launch as the first mass-market electric vehicle in 2010, the Nissan Leaf has made sustainable, zero-emission mobility an attainable reality for hundreds of thousands of customers around the world,” Nissan AMIEO product planning region vice president Marco Fioravanti says.

Nissan AMIEO research and development region senior vice president Dave Moss adds: “The maximum five-star rating for the Leaf e+ awarded by Green NCAP is a powerful testament to the quality of the product, and the extensive expertise that Nissan has gained throughout a pioneering decade of innovation in electrification.”

The Leaf e+ offers up to 385km range (WLTP) from its 62kWh battery as well as intelligent driver assistance features.
